All along I thought Iowa was being righteous. Turns out they created a women's wrestling team as part of a Title IX settlement.

Univ. of Iowa paying $400,000, offering additional women’s sports to settle Title IX lawsuit

The lawsuit came after Iowa’s athletic department was facing a multi-million dollar deficit and cut a number of different sports.
