Wonder if Shane was doing a bit of house cleaning with Bell and Lloyd

Could it be there was more to the issue of Bell's limited playing time there for a stretch? At the time, we all found it utterly inexplicable that week-in, week-out Bell was left out the game plan.

And, could it be that there was more Lloyd missing a chunk of games than the "bruise"?

Maybe it had more to do with attitude than personnel groupings and bruises. Particularly with the way both left the program. Lloyd's Twitter post seemed angry.

I don't know...but Bell was our most talented player on roster. Lloyd was FINALLY starting to live up to the hype.
Don't know about Bell's attitude....but if he wasn't the number one or two focal point weekly in gameplans, he had a right to be upset. You know when you're 'the guy' on a team....and everyone else knows too. I'm definitely more upset to see Bell leave than Lloyd.

But does that add something to it? Would the coaches really be so clueless as to leave our most talented player mostly out of the game plan several weeks in a row? Unless, of course, there was a reason they did it related to attitude.

I think it's an unprovable theory, but it's one people often pull out when a talented player leaves their team.

It can't be us, it has to be him, that kind of thing.

First, let me say that I am a huge Bell fan. I really hated to see him go, because I do think he is very good with the ball in his hands in space. That said, I could see him being the type that would get upset if he didn’t get enough touches. If not him, certainly his family can create a cloud over the program. However, I never saw Lloyd being that guy. He always seemed to handle himself well. As someone else on here mention, I’m sure there is a lot of money being thrown in his direction. As a player with one ACL surgery already behind you and in a position that has a short shelf life at the next level anyway, I’m sure money talks for him.

I don’t think Bell played as much because he didn’t have a true position. He wasn’t a RB. He didn’t block well enough at TE. He probably should’ve played WR. I think that’s why he wasn’t on the field as much because he didn’t block well on a team that couldn’t protect the QB already. So just playing him and getting him the ball isn’t as easy as it sounds.

What a bi+ch. He wasn't even healthy enough to play a whole season. He wasn't even the game breaking player we hoped he would be and he obviously wasn't tough enough to last a season in the SEC. Personally, I think losing Bell was a significantly larger deal

It is the coaches job to find a place for a talented athlete. That said, if he can't block it is hard to justify having him on the field. Even WRs are expected to block when they don't have the ball.

Well for awhile it looked like we had "Tank" Biggersly locked up and ready to sign with the good guys. Picture of him on a tank. Then it tanked. He went elsewhere. We sure could have used a power back this season to put more pressure on the defenses. Tank started to transfer with all the goings on at Auburn but so far has stayed the course. Now looking back, especially with this decision, I wish he had come with us. Enough moaning and groaning.

I did something I rarely do: I wandered over at Taternet to see what they had to say. They are having a ball over the defections. Some are predicting Rattler will leave after the bowl. I loathe those b**tards.

Yeah, it had absolutely nothing to do with the outrageous number of personnel groupings, based upon down and distance and field location primarily, and the tight formations that Satterfield would not budge off of from day one - until the UT game - when we started to play to our strengths.
There were many games in which Lloyd was dissatisfied with his number of carriers and it was shown on national TV when he was subbed out after making key runs.

Well obviously Lloyd got mad about something because just a few days ago he was trying to recruit the offensive lineman from Alabama to transfer here. So whatever happened, it happened in the last few days.

“ The most talented player on our roster???” At what position? WR? After Wells, Vann, Brooks maybe he beats out Brown, maybe. Two TE’s better overall than Bell. RB? Lloyd and Smith, both better. I have said before, he is not an every down player; therefore, fewer touches. if Bell is in the game and I am a DB, I think I would know there was a pass coming. A similar position but Brock Bowers he is not.

Whether it was Shane cleaning house or not, one way or another the trash got taken out.

Anybody remember the video from the last play in the Clemson game where supposedly the play was originally called for Lloyd and the OL aggressively overruled and changed it to Wells? I remember thinking when I watched that there may have been some disconnect between Lloyd and the rest of the offense. When you are injured for a while and not making road trips you can quickly become disconnected and it allows other people to get in your ear - perhaps that was at play here.
