Wonder if we'll see offensive adjustments after this bye week?

Scary to think how good this team can be if the offense becomes productive. We don't have an offense full of studs (though we have some), necessarily, but I honestly think we have the players in place to produce IF given the right plan. I'm telling myself that Beamer and Loggains have devoted the last two weeks to figuring this out.

I hope so. Don’t want to see any fake punts in the first half. The defense is the strongest part of the team. Punt the ball and make them have to drive the field. If it’s 4th and one, don’t fake a punt . Sellers and Sanders are 230 lbs. Run them, not an up back in a punt formation.

Just about every facet of the offense can get better, so I hope they have analyzed it and worked on it. I'm thinking 2022 when we finished up beating UT and CU, something clicked during that stretch that maybe they can go back to. We definitely need to protect Sellers better and open up some running lanes for Sanders, it all starts up front. Sellers decision making and securing the ball are a must, our receivers need to get some separation for him to have some check downs. Hopefully they have shored up the play calling as well, might just need to simplify it a bit, run what you know you can run to perfection. Sounds easy, but I'm sure it isn't!

I'm presuming A&M goes with Reid at QB after last night. I was picking us by eight before the switch. Now it's THEM by eight - no matter WHAT we do.

I was thinking the same.
Have to make him throw, if he runs we are done.

I didn't get to see any games yesterday and haven't watched the Aggies at all this year. Other than knowing they're loaded with talent and made a good coaching hire, I don't know how to handicap them

Their main "handicap" got benched in the second half last night and now their season holds much greater promise. I had seen the other guy three times and he was most impressive, only slightly better than Sellers.

I'm not holding my breath. We've had plenty of time to make offensive adjustments. We already had a bye week and look what happened. The only adjustments we've seen are the uniforms. At this point, Loggains needs to try the George Costanza method of doing the opposite of his instincts. 😂

“Yes…I will do the opposite. I used to sit here, call the same plays and regret it for the rest of the day. So now, I will do the opposite. I will do something.”

The best adjustments we can make are to stop turning the ball over and quit having stupid penalties that set us back.

Otherwise, I'm not sure of any magical adjustments they can make in Game 8 that they wouldn't have already implemented by now if they could have.

+1

I would add one more thing - just execute the plays we call better. Block better. Run the routes better. As much as we ***** and moan about play calling, no doubt that poor execution makes good play calls look bad (i.e. missing your assignment, not throwing it to the better/best option, lackluster effort, etc)

Yeah.. hopefully better execution. Don't know what some of you are watching, but play calling isn't the main problem.
Executing the plays seems to be an issue from QB on down. Easy to blame a coach for missed blocks, fumbles and over throws

Yep. We've seen DL call masterful drives.. they look good because they are executed and/or the players made plays and not crucial mistakes.

The best adjustment would be to have practiced fundamentals and discipline. No team can install a new offense or radically change an offense (or defense for that matter) in a period of two weeks.

And look for defensive patterns where we can take advantage offensively.

We did a good job with turnovers against OU, and a slightly better job with penalties. Still had a couple big ones that cost us points. Hopefully we're trending the right direction.
