Hopefully Rocky Felker will call the plays since he allegedly called the game against UK. (urban myth)

something suspiciously hopeful like, "Is Rusty Linton performing this surgery?"

And where the hell does this rumor that Rockey called the UK game come from? If Croom was so pissed at WM that he allowed someone else to successfully call the plays for one game, he sure as hell wouldn't go back to McCorvey the next week. That rumor makes no sense, other than feed into the belief that all we need to do is change OC's to be successful on offense.

I don't believe it for the reason that you stated. I have also heard that Rocky called all the plays on the game winning drive against Auburn to, although that was not posted.

I'm pretty sure it comes from people that either A. still love Rocky for some God unknown reason B. really, really hate Woody and won't give him a shred of credit.

They say this is a "planned" surgery. If it were planned, it would have been done a month or two ago. It might not have been emergency surgery, but I don't think this is something that anybody even knew about a couple of weeks ago. And despite the announcement that he'll only be out a week, Croom's already hinting at the possiblity it might be much longer.

Here's hoping it's less serious than I think it may be.

that's pretty damn serious. Here's to a speedy recovery.

take a LOT of his energy away from him. Croom seriously better start thinking about getting a potential replacement at the end of this year.

I feel terrible for pulling the Rusty Linton joke out of mothballs.

I hope it is confined to the kidney.

I hope Woody is ok...Secondly, our offense wont change a bit...the man calling the plays will be the same person still

As far as Rockey, it probably was a case of Rockey seeing something open, told Crooms or Woody, they called it, and it worked...and that was the end of that

....important than the game of football. With that said, not having him on the field coaching is no loss to us at all.

just because of his playing days (yeah, I'm that old, Joe Reed being the first QB I remember, then Barkum, then Felker). As far as the game winning drive against the Aubs, seems like we ran twice on 3rd & long. I'm a dubmass, but I was still shocked those plays worked (I know Ducre had a long gain on a draw play on 3rd & long).

Hal came from CA juco to play for State and I SWEAR that I think he stayed 5 more years. He was a good guy...was about 6'5" and 225 witha rifle of an arm.....but had a very quiet demeanor with a California sneer. You can imagine how well that played with hardcore southern coaching staffs. Needless to say he anchored the "Turd Herd" in practice every day.

By the way, I think he is Sheriff/Administrator for Kern County in California now. It's a county that caresses the city limits of LA and gets a lot of the criminal fleeing/overrun. I have seen him on Fox and CNN several times after the random Chimp attack.

His main play was to take the snap, and fall down. Of course, that was under coach Shira, whom had absoutely no clue how to run passing offense.
