I wanted to get a new thread going here similar to the now defunct board to be a centralized resource for wrestling statistics. Listed below are sites that contain a lot of great information (titles are linked to the websites):

Wrestling Guru
Seriously impressive NCAA tournament (all levels!) database with a lot of information that can be sorted into many useful ways. Data for freestyle and high schools for several states are also included. This had to take an incredible amount of time to compile.

WrestleStat
This is a gem of a resource created by andegre (I haven't seen him post in a long time). He's an Iowa fan but no one is perfect. This site has match results for every D1 wrestler going back to 2013/2014. It also generates exceptionally accurate rankings . You do have to create an account to get full access. It's free but donations are accepted.

WrestlingStats
This site has NCAA and conference tournament brackets dating back to before wrestling was even invented.

Penn State Wrestling Club
The best resource for Penn State wrestling information. This site is loaded with information from the beginning of Penn State wrestling. It also has NCAA tourney results and scoring back to 2009 and Big Ten tourney results and scoring back to 2010.

Trackwrestling
Trackwrestling carries a lot of statistics within each posted tournament. For NCAA tourneys, the statistics go back to 2012.

Penn State Wrestling - School Site
Penn State archives more statistical data than over 83% of other school wrestling sites. Their archives include season statistical data back to the 2007/08 season. As a comparison, Iowa only archives season statistical data to 2022/23 (Iowa does list match by match results to 2010/11.)

Wrestling Hall of Fame
Within the searchable biographies of HOF inductees, this site includes W/L data and number of pins along with the narratives of their wrestling history and accomplishments. I used this as a resource to add information to the list of top NCAA tournament wrestlers that Alex Steen put together several years ago.

NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Championships Record Book
The link above is for the 2024 NCAA Record Book. This has been published yearly for a while but I haven't found 2025 posted on-line yet. This record book includes a wealth of historical data including all past weight class champions, awards and team results year by year. <Edit: the direct link isn't working. Probably because it goes directly to a pdf. Just do a search using the title above and you'll find it.>

Since @Wrestleknownothing produces a great quantity of interesting statistical information, I'm also going to use this initial post as an updatable index for his stat threads:
Three Point Takedown Analysis
NCAA Tourney - Seed Performance
NCAA Tourney - Top Point Scorers
NCAA Tourney - Team Deductions
NCAA Tourney - OT Matches
2026 Returning Points

Listed below are the top 50+ NCAA tournament scoring wrestlers. Points are adjusted to current scoring. The base data came from an article authored by Alex Steen 6+ years ago in WIN magazine (I can't find the link posted anymore). I have updated it through 2025 and added the information after the total points column. For now, I'm keeping the 5 year guys on a separate list.

Thanks for sharing this! Finding historical wrestling info can be next to impossible depending on the topic, but you got all the major players and possibilities here all in one place. Appreciate it!

This one hasn't been updated since 2019. However, it shows clearly the breadth of PA wrestling. No other state comes close to having the number of NCAA Div 1 champions at different universities.

One school "missing" is Ohio State. After the 2020-2021 season, I thought Sammy Sasso would be the guy. Alas...

Cali:

Just a head's up. I found one number on this list I disagree with. They have Randy Lewis credited with 82.5 points, but it should be 84.5. I think they did not give him credit for 2 bonus points in his 1981 7th place match won by FFT as there was a double forfeit on the other side of the bracket. But Iowa's team score that year does reflect them getting credit for 2 in that match.

You are correct. I adjusted the list. Thanks!

I have updated the top NCAA tournament scorers list in post #2 above. Two wrestlers were added to the list after this year's tournament:

>Levi Haines slots in at #37, just ahead of IMar and behind Keegan O'Toole
>Jesse Mendez is in a 5-way tie at #48 with David Carr and others. Mendez is the only wrestler from Indiana in the top 60.

For next season, there are only two wrestlers who can make the list:

>Shayne Van Ness is sitting at 56 points and needs a 1st place finish and some bonus
>Psycho is sitting at 69 points and if he gets the same amount of points (25.5) as this season, he will finish in a 3-way tie with Ed Ruth and Aaaron Brooks at 10th place. He has a real shot at passing Bo Nickal for 8th place.
