I have xfinity* and can only stream “college” football games on the major networks (FOX, NBC, ABC) via my in-home WiFi. So, no streaming while at Starbucks. 😞

Is this an xfinity issue or do you see this with other cable systems or streaming services? From what I remember, this is a rather recent restriction with xfinity.

* Yes, I’m an a$$hole for still having cable TV in 2024. 😞

You might be able to stream if you download the Fox Sports, ESPN, and/or Peacock app. You can log in with your xfinity credentials.

I think it’s an agreement w college football n Xfinity. One thing to try is using the xfinity app see what happens. The other when u are out turn your phones WiFi off n stream from data. That has worked for me on broadcast games
Then if u want to ‘cast’ to a tv you’ll have to use a HDMI code and an adapter for your phone ( Apple phones use Apple adapters etc)
Good luck

When I still had cable it was similar. I could stream 100% of the channels on my cable plan if I was on my home wifi network which was through the cable company. If on any other wifi network, or after changing to a different ISP at home, some channels were not able to be streamed. It's probably part of your terms of service.

The above suggestion is a good one, stream directly from the channel's website after logging in with your cable company credentials.

I tried the xfinity app away from the house on cellular. No joy.

I stream all the games through Xfinity via the ESPN, Foxsports, NBCSports and CBSSports apps. All of them have a cable provider login option in their Settings. I just log into my Xfinity account, open the app, go to settings and select login with provider. It'll direct you to a website to enter an activation code while simultaneously having your Xfinity login open. It'll then recognize your Xfinity account and let you view the apps to watch the games. I don't know if this helps but it's what I do.
