We need to upgrade Davis Wade Stadium. North End Zone ONLY if we start selling out games. We need new restrooms, more efficient refreshment sites (more accessible), and for god sakes pressure wash the <17>ing place...

The Sherrill-era upgrade would have never happened. We weren't selling out Scott Field on a regular basis before the last expansion. But post expansion, we are selling a lot more ticket than the old stadium would have held - despite playing the worst football in modern MSU history.

Build it and they will come - its a proven fact. I guarantee you that with another DWS expansion, we'll have more people then than the current stadium can hold. And given the high demand for suites, we'd make pretty good coin off of that too.

And if nothing else we would no longer feel envious of our northern neighbor's endzone skyboxes.,

I've actually thought about this, and I hope whoever donates the lead gift for the Basketball Facility (I'm talking to you Richard Adkerson) makes them name it after Jack. He deserves to get an honor like that before he's gone.

While I agree we should add capacity to the North End, I'd like to see another improvement, as well.

I suggest making every seat a chairback, in phases.
  • West Side Lower Level
  • East Side Lower Level
  • Endzone
  • Upper Decks

I suppose that's possible, but I know Greg was working him for the gift back in the spring and felt pretty good about it at that point, which was after the gift to Accounting. We shall see.

And just to make everyone feel warm and fuzzy about the risk of building it and they won't come, there is pretty good evidence right now that rent on premium seating could fund all or part of the expansion in number of seats.

But, even without that safety net, build it and they will come DOES work in football stadiums.

very happy if you were right.

The guy made like $100 milliion a couple of years ago all in one year. Nice 100% ROE year for FCX.

for just a few extra dollars per game, the AD will come out and clamp you an ultra modern mobile chairback to your seat.

I know, it's not the same. But, I just don't think that investment pays off in the future like some of the other suggestions.

I pretty sure that's incorrect. I seem to remember that the last 2 years before the east expansion opened up (1999 & 2000), that our average home game attendance was more than our official capacity. Somebody with more free time can look that up for verification.

This wouldn't be an "investment", but an amenity that could aesthetically improve the stadium.

Lets tear Davis Wade down and rebuild a 70,000 seat stadium that is horshoe and everything and filled with luxury skyboxes and chairbacks.

We built the new facility in which the seating was below ground level, so costs of future expansion could be reduced.

Michigan's "Big House" could serve as an example.

I just graduated from the school of accounting, and I didn't even know that. You'd think they'd brag on him a little more than they do.

I understand BHG @ Florida Field is also like that. Oregon's stadium is somewhat like that also - you walk up a hill to get in and when you enter you're already half way up the stadium.

And we could use the excavated dirt to build a larger ampitheater-like surrounding mound for the LFL.

Also, before we add seats to the stadium. I say we upgrade the **** out of it.

I want to go to the bathroom and not piss against a waterfall of stench into a river of nastier stench. I want to have speakers when walking in and out of the stadium, loud speakers broadcasting Jack's pre and post game report. I want flat screens showing the game at the concession stands and in the bathrooms. I want better concessions, including BEER. I want cups that don't stink. We need to improve the game day atmosphere in the actual stadium.

Give it a facelift and chairbacks down the lines. Then the bb practice facility and Davis Wade upgrades as the money presents itself.
