Nick Saban is everywhere these days. One day he is at Bryant-Denny Stadium for the Alabama spring game. The next, he is spotted in Italy by a few fans, taking in the famous Spanish Steps. On Tuesday, Saban was out on the golf course and decided to bring a few players with him.

Malachi Moore was one of them, supporting Saban during his ‘Nick’s Kids’ event. Saban was joined by Moore, fellow defensive back Kool-Aid McKinstry, and defensive lineman Justin Eboibge. The group had pulled up to a Par 3 but were having some trouble getting the ball in the air. Moore took a swing and a miss before getting a lesson from Saban.

Maybe it’s something everybody out there needs to learn. After all, no better teacher out there than the seven-time national champion.

“Take your right hand just like you’re throwing the ball,” Saban said. “When you get back here like this, just like you are throwing the ball. Take it down to the ball.”

Moore was able to make some contact with the ball, even if he wound up topping it. Progress from the Crimson Tide defensive back while Saban never ceases to stop coaching.

You can watch the full moment here.

Moore was quick to dish out another update to everyone, showing he was able to “get the hand of it.” The ball was launched in the air — not easy for somebody who is golfing for the first time.

He can now thank Saban for teaching him to become one of the SEC’s top defensive backs and possibly his budding golf career.

Thankfully for Alabama, Moore is going to be a better football player than what was produced from his golf outing. He is expected to fill one of the safety spots left unoccupied by Demarcco Hellams and Jordan Battle.

Moore has played in 39 career games, beginning his time at Alabama as a starter at the nickel position. A deep, veteran secondary pushed him into more of a rotational role but now, it’s Moore’s time to shine under Saban once again.

But there will be plenty of time between now and the fall for Moore to get a few more swings in on the range. Everyone around the country is entering peak golf season. Moore can be just the latest to get into the sport, hitting one of the courses around Tuscaloosa this summer.
