How rare was what Travis Hunter did on Saturday afternoon? According to Opta Stats, by recording at least 50 receiving yards, scoring a rushing touchdown and intercepting a pass in the same game, Hunter became the first college or NFL player to do so since Champ Bailey during the 2000 NFL season.

Hunter has been downright dominant on both sides of the ball all season long.

Through 10 games, Hunter has recorded two carries for five yards and a touchdown and 74 catches for 911 yards and nine touchdowns. He’s also recorded 23 tackles, a tackle for a loss, a forced fumble, three interceptions and eight pass breakups on defense.

That’s superb work for a player playing more snaps than just about anyone else in the country.

Now Travis Hunter is the clear front-runner to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy. Not too shabby.
