2025 NFL free agency: Devin Bush re-signs on one-year deal with Cleveland Browns

Former Michigan standout Devin Bush has found a new home in NFL free agency. Well, sort of.
The talented linebacker is remaining in Cleveland, inking a second one-year deal with the Browns. He originally signed with Cleveland at almost the exact same date a year ago, inking on March 15, 2024.
According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Bush will be signing a $3.25 million deal this time around. The deal was negotiated by agent Drew Rosenhaus.
In his lone season with the Browns in 2024, Devin Bush racked up 76 tackles, a sack and three passes defended. He made contributions in 16 games on the season, matching the highest total of his career.
But he’s had a productive career in the past six seasons. During that timeframe, Bush has logged 81 appearances, 399 tackles, 5.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, two interceptions and 16 passes defended.
He was at his best during his rookie season, when he tallied 109 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, four fumble recoveries, two interceptions and four passes defended. That earned him a spot on the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2019.

Devin Bush was a first-round pick out of Michigan in the 2019 NFL Draft. He was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the No. 10 overall pick.
Browns pick up QB Kenny Pickett
Devin Bush isn’t the only early move the Cleveland Browns are making. The Philadelphia Eagles are trading quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Cleveland Browns for a 2025 fifth-round pick and quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, according to multiple reports. Pickett was the backup quarterback for the Eagles last season.
Pickett was with the Eagles for just one year. The former Pittsburgh Panthers quarterback was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 20 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft and spent two seasons with the team before being traded to the Eagles.
When starting quarterback Jalen Hurts was out with an injury, Pickett became the starter in the Eagles’ Week 17 game against the Dallas Cowboys. In the game, the 26-year-old completed 66.7 of his passes for 143 yards and one touchdown with a 119.6 rating in a 41-7 victory. Pickett continued to be the Eagles’ backup QB throughout the playoffs and became a Super Bowl champion when the team defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
