Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt was amped up after Michigan defeated Ohio State and the future looks quite bright under Sherrone Moore.

Everything’s coming up for Michigan once again as the Wolverines finished 7-5 but landed top ranked QB Bryce Underwood in a flip last week. Put that together with a win over Ohio State and 2025 suddenly looks very promising.

It wasn’t just Jim Harbaugh, according to Klatt. Michigan is ready to keep it rolling under Moore.

“I got to tell you, there’s not a seven win team in the country that had a better last two weeks than Michigan,” Klatt said on his podcast. “They get Bryce Underwood to flip, they’ve got a top 10 recruiting class now, they just beat their rival for the fourth straight time. And here’s the more important part, is that they can go into the off season and they can double down on everything that they do. Okay, you see this was a really important win, obviously, for Sherrone, for so many reasons. But the main reason is that he can say, like, no, no, it’s not just Jim that can win this way. This is Michigan’s philosophy, not Jim’s philosophy, which then means that it can be my philosophy.

“We can go in and this can be my program, and those foundational things about toughness and weight room and development work. This works. What we do works. That is a really powerful thing going into an off season, because you’ve got to be able to lean on guys you see as a coach, you’ve got to have leverage over guys. If you feel like your players have leverage over you, then you can’t require them to work as hard as they need to work in order to develop. But when you have leverage over the players, when you can say, like, what I’m requiring you to do, works. We’ve beat Ohio State four straight times. We’ve won a national championship. We won three Big Ten titles. This works Now the off season could be incredible.”

Sherrone Moore has Michigan rising once again

Moore made his pitch for recruits to come to Michigan right after “The Game.” He said as much on the broadcast.

“Come to Michigan, this works,” Klatt said. “That’s what I mean. That’s what he’s saying. And, like, how about that recruiting pitch? If you’re sitting in the living room … you’re like, hey, like, this is what we do. This is what we do. And it works.

“So really powerful game for Michigan, and I think that’s what it means for them moving forward, it is a springboard game they can go into the off season, and now it can be an incredibly powerful and positive off season, even if it wasn’t as successful on the field as they had wished during the fall.”
