Will Howard claims Ohio State 'can't go out any other way than winning it all'
As the College Football Playoff gets underway this weekend, Will Howard is on a mission — bring Ohio State a championship, and close out his college football career in grand fashion.
The journey continues for the Buckeyes quarterback this weekend, as Ohio Stadium will be the site of their first round matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers. Ahead of the massive showdown, Howard spoke on how he’s seeing the forest through the trees, wanting to send the 2024 version of Ohio State out on a high note, lifting the trophy at the end of it all.
“I’ve been playing college football for five years now, and this is all I have left. Like, I have, you know, four games max left in my college career. So, I mean, there’s no other option than to just empty the tank, and leave it all out here, because this is all we have left, as college athletes,” Howard said, via his press conference ahead of this weekend’s clash. “Ohio State or not, like, this is it. And, I mean — I’m just excited to finish it the right way, because we have such a good group of guys, man. We have such an unbelievable team that we have here. It’s a special group.
“And you know, we can’t — we can’t go out any other way than winning it at all. Like, that’s the way that I see it, man. I just — I want this for this team, so bad.”

From his time with Kansas State to his season in Columbus, Howard has had an uneven college football career, but it’s evident he’s well-equipped to lead Ohio State to victory. He was chosen as a mercenary by Ryan Day and company, knowing well and good that it’s national championship or bust for the Buckeyes.
After their loss to Michigan in The Game, that’s more true than ever. Will Howard and company have received some time to marinate on their loss, but now it’s time to get back on the horse and try to win a title, and that’s the only thing on the quarterback’s mind, it seems.
