AJ Johnson, a Fresno, California native, burst on the national scene after a stellar Pangos All-American Festival showing. He then excelled as a junior at Woodland Hills (California) Taft in the Los Angeles area. He scored 16.7 points, dished out 4.7 assists and grabbed 2.6 rebounds a game for Taft in the 2021-2022 season. Johnson was enrolled and set to play at Donda Academy for his senior season, but the school founded by Kanye West was shuttered in late October 2022.
