Personal Life
Dan Lanning could use a lot of different words to describe Ajani Cornelius, but the one that's most impactful is when he called the standout linemen "professional." “Johnny’s approach is a guy that really wants to develop," Lanning said. "He saw the opportunity here to grow as a player. He has aspirations of what are the things that he wants to accomplish. He has clear goals of the things he wants to accomplish. I think he is a professional. Very intelligent and certainly takes the approach of a learner, which is exciting for me. He's a guy that’s looking to get better.” Cornelius started his career at Rhode Island, where he started 22 games during his first two years in college. Then in 2023, Cornelius started 14 games for the Ducks at right tackle and earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors. He also allowed zero sacks and just 11 total pressures in 512 pass-blocking opportunities.
