As a Recruit
Personal Life
Barion Brown arrived at Kentucky as one of the top 15 receiver recruits in the 2022 recruiting class, but according to Wildcats coach Mark Stoops, he works like he's an unranked player and he plays with a chip on his shoulder. "I think Barion would be the first one to tell you that he’s worked really hard and just maturing and growing," Stoops said entering the 2024 season. "I think everybody has such high expectations for him, as do we, because he’s so talented but he is just going into his third year. He was a true sophomore a year ago, and you just see that normal maturation process in what he’s doing, and I appreciate the consistency that he’s had because he’s definitely maturing and growing and getting bigger, stronger, physically and mentally, more consistent. And so very excited about Barion and what he’s capable of." Brown entered the 2024 season with four career kickoff return touchdowns in 32 attempts on a 31.8 yards per return average. He had two big performances against Louisville and Clemson to end the 2023 season when he returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and recorded five receptions for 148 yards. Southern Miss head coach Will Hall had high praise for Brown. “He’s the best I’ve ever coached against,” Hall said about Brown. “I’ve coached against Tyreek Hill. He’s really, really dynamic.”
