Personal Life
Baye Fall grew up in the Senegalese capital of Dakar, where he mainly played soccer and excelled as a goalkeeper. However, because of his size, his family encouraged him to focus on basketball. He moved to the Denver area when he was 15 to join his cousin and uncle. Fall did know some English, but he used social media and rap music to learn the language better. In March 2019, Fall made a strong first impression on scouts with a standout performance at the Pangos Junior All-American Camp, a showcase for the top middle school talent in the country. He then emerged on the national stage as a freshman at Parker (Colorado) Lutheran High School. Fall led Lutheran with 19 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks, helping him earn MaxPreps Freshman All-American honors. He continued to excel as a sophomore, upping his totals to 22.1 points and 10 rebounds a game at Lutheran. He transferred to the newly formed Denver Prep Academy ahead of his junior season but was dismissed for violating team rules. After his junior season, Fall averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks a game for the Colorado Hawks in the Adidas 3SSB circuit. He was named co-MVP of the Pangos All-American Camp Top 30 All-Star Game, followed by a performance as the top scorer and rebounder at the NBAPA Top 100 Camp. For his senior year, Fall enrolled at Accelerated Prep, another Denver-based private school.
