Personal Life
Brian Thomas Jr. had his pick between playing college basketball and college football when he was coming out of Walker High School in the Class of 2021. While he did score more than 1,000 points each of his three seasons of playing high school basketball, it couldn't compare to football – his true love. “Football, to me, is bigger than a sport,” Thomas said. “It’s something that I love to do, and it’s been there for me. If I’m going through something, going out to practice, I get to clear my mind. I’ve always loved football the most.” He made the right decision. During his time at LSU, he finished with 24 touchdown grabs and racked up an impressive 1,177 yards receiving and 17 scores in 2023. He was named third-team All-American and second-team All-SEC for those efforts in 2023. Thomas then electrified observers at the NFL Combine when he ran a 4.33-second time in the 40-yard dash. “I would say just being able to pick up on coverages, decipher what coverage the defense is in, and picking up on things fast, picking up on plays and stuff,” Thomas said when asked to describe his style of play.
