Cade Klubnik Scouting Summary

Charles Power

10/26/21

Accurate, efficient and athletic signal caller who is proven at the highest levels of Texas high school football. Operates at a high efficiency, with strong decision-making and accuracy. Has completed nearly 70% of his career passes at over 10 yards per attempt. Not an elite arm talent, but generates force with his core and hip torque, pointing to some room for improvement in that respect. Has twitchy lower body movements with his footwork. Able to extend plays and create as a scrambler. Has a long stride in the open field and ran for 15 touchdowns as a junior. Leads one of the nation’s top-ranked high school programs and is undefeated as a starter well into his senior season. Plays in a favorable situation in high school for a top coaching staff and behind an offensive line full of Power 5 prospects. A high energy, active, vocal quarterback who has drawn strong reviews as a leader. Was named MVP of the Elite11 Finals prior to his senior season.

Cade Klubnik a top performer at All-American Bowl

1/08/22

Cade Klubnik received the most in-game reps of all quarterbacks and took advantage of the opportunity. The Clemson signee didn’t have trouble adjusting to the increased speed of live game action. That shouldn’t come as a surprise given his experience playing top competition in the state of Texas. Klubnik showed off his mobility and accuracy, hitting a few nice passes while moving to his right. While he doesn’t have the natural arm talent of Allar or Brown and entered the game running third in our quarterback pecking order, Klubnik was on the same page with his receivers and had by far the most productive game of the bunch.

11/05/21

Cade Klubnik lead his Austin Westlake team to a 63-21 win over rival Lake Travis in his first game back after missing three weeks with a shoulder injury. Klubnik was efficient in leading the potent Westlake offense on quick scoring drives. The 6-foot-3, 186-pounder showed his long-striding rushing ability on a zone read keeper that went for a 22-yard touchdown on the first drive. He wasn’t shy as a runner and didn’t appear to be favoring his shoulder after the injury. Klubnik hit a deep ball to 2023 On300 receiver Jaden Greathouse for the second score. He finished 11 for 15 for 219 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 31 yards and two more scores on six attempts.

Cade Klubnik mid-senior season evaluation

9/22/21

Cade Klubnik is starring for one of the nation's top teams in Austin Westlake. The Chaps ran the table en route to a state title in 2020 and have yet to be tested. The Clemson pledge is playing behind an offensive line stocked with Power 5 prospects. Even then, he's shown some good feel and movement while operating within the pocket. Klubnik has also shown translatable movement skills and mechanics. He has twitchy lower body movement patterns and tends to generate force in his throwing motion through hip torque. Few if any other quarterbacks in the 2022 cycle have a better overall supporting cast and situation than Klubnik. Still, he's playing at a very efficient level, showing accuracy and the ability to take care of the ball.

Klubnik is a strong athlete and was at his best when throwing on the run during Day 1 of the Elite 11 Finals. He had a number of nice throws while rolling out to his right and throws a catchable ball. Klubnik also has a vibrant personality and energy level that was evident throughout the course of the week. While his pure arm talent is not among the top group of the Elite 11 finalists, Klubnik was accurate and steady on a day-to-day basis. Klubnik and Walker Howard led their 7-on-7 team to the tournament title on Saturday. At the tournament’s conclusion, Klubnik was named MVP of the event by the Elite 11 counselors, which combines on and off-field performance from the week.
