Personal Life
Dylan Harper is the son of five-time NBA champion Ron Harper. And much like his father, who averaged 13.8 points in his career with the Cavs, Clippers, Bulls and Lakers, Harper is considered a top-level scorer that isn’t afraid to defend and use his size to his advantage. “I can do a little bit of everything,” Harper told On3’s Jamie Shaw. “Get people better, pass the ball, shoot and rebound. My jump shot has become a weapon – people can’t go under screens on me now. I watch a lot of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Cade Cunningham, bigger guards who use their dribble to get to the rim.” Harper grabbed headlines during the 2022-2023 season when he won MVP of the prestigious John Wall Holiday Invitational and then started January off with a 36-point outburst on Showtime TV against 2023 five-star DJ Wagner. His junior season at Ramsey (New Jersey) Don Bosco Prep ended with a 38-point performance against Bergen Catholic in the North Non-Public A semifinals. He finished the 2022-2023 high school season averaging 23 points.
