Ja'Keem Jackson Scouting Summary

Cody Bellaire

7/18/22

Dynamic two-way star whose ball skills point to a very high upside at corner. Played on both sides of the ball for one of the top high school programs in central Florida and picked off four passes as a senior. Stands in at just over 6 feet, 180 pounds with a wingspan over 6-foot-5. Can reach his top end-speed in a flash and has easy recovery speed. Ran an electronically-timed 4.57 40 during the spring camp circuit prior to his senior season and has posted sub 11.0 second marks in the 100 meters. Has a very high ceiling as a cover corner due to his size, ball skills and athletic ability. Showed to be a quick study on defense at the Under Armour All-America Game as a senior, getting better over the course of the week and looking like arguably the top corner prospect on hand. Will need to continue developing physically and technically in order to optimize his natural ability.

Ja’Keem Jackson looked to have one of the higher upsides among the cornerback group at Under Armour. The Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola product brings plus size, length, athleticism and ball skills to the table. Jackson’s skill set was evident in Orlando, where he had the best total week of all cornerbacks on Team Speed. He was a Top Performer on Day Three, after turning in a strong afternoon in coverage. Jackson’s play was particularly encouraging considering his lack of experience as a corner after spending much of his career on offense. Jackson has the look of a player who could take off with further coaching and development at the college level, but he’s already a very good player at this stage.

Ja’Keem Jackson has been in the On300 dating back to the spring and continues to rise. The 6-foot.5, 180-pounder picked up cornerback midseason at Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola and proved to be a natural, picking off three passes in four games. Jackson was a standout on the camp circuit, flashing fluid athleticism and wide receiver-level ball skills. He has plus length with a wing-span over 6-foot-5 and ran a 10.9 second time in the 100 meters this spring. Jackson is certainly less experienced at the position than most others, but has the look of an ascending prospect.
