Jared Smith

Tall, long pass-rusher who comes from one of the top high school programs in Alabama. Measured in at 6-foot-5.5, 235 pounds with 34.5-inch arms before his senior season. A good athlete in the combine setting who carries his movement skills over to Friday nights. Transferred to Alabama power Thompson High midway through his junior season and played his best ball as a senior. Lined up at defensive end and as an outside linebacker. Breakout showing in the first game of his senior season against Georgia power Grayson High. Good effort level. Length creates issues. Runs down plays and uses his length to finish in the backfield. Finished his senior season with 22 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks in 14 games. Will need to continue adding functional strength. Imbalances in his frame and movements can create hangups. Younger for the cycle, turning 18 years old in June before his freshman season of college football.
