Jordan Whittington arrived on the Forty Acres as the No. 8 receiver and sixth-best prospect in Texas coming out of Cuero High School in the Class of 2019. Whittington posted more than 3,000 receiving yards, 5,400 all-purpose yards and 60 total touchdowns over his last three seasons in the prep ranks. He played some in 2019 and 2020, but it was in 2021 that Whittington broke out. He started in three games and finished the season with 377 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Whittington went on to earn honorable mention All-Big 12 honors by league coaches in 2022. He caught 50 passes for 652 yards and one touchdown that season. Entering the 2023 College Football Playoff, Whittington had 435 yards and five touchdown grabs for the Longhorns.
