As a Recruit
Personal Life
Justin Edwards said he owes a lot of his success as an On3 Consensus five-star recruit and athleticism largely to his mother, Ebony Twiggs, who played professional basketball overseas while he was growing up. Twiggs was also a local star in Philly at University City before playing at Cheyney University. “She had to sacrifice a lot for me, so this is just me paying her back,” Edwards told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “She’d brag and tell me how she was always good and how she’d cook me when she was my age.” Edwards played AAU ball with Team Final, winning Nike’s 2021 Peach Jam. He also led Imhotep to the Public League championship and PIAA Class 5A title in 2022, averaging 18.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
