Personal Life
Keelee Ringo was an On3 Consensus Five-Star Plus+ recruit coming out of Scottsdale (Arizona) Saguaro in the Class of 2020. He had offers from most of the top programs in the country, including Alabama, Clemson, LSU and Ohio State. However, he picked UGA over Oregon in the end. Ringo missed the entire 2020 season after recovering from off-season surgery. In 2021, he was selected to the coaches’ Freshman All-SEC team. He played in all 15 games and started the final 12 games, including the national championship game. In that game, Ringo had a game-sealing 79-yard interception return for a touchdown against Alabama. Ringo then was named Associated Press and Coaches’ All-SEC second team in 2022. “He played with more awareness in terms of coverages, route recognition,” Smart said of Ringo midway through the 2022 season. “There’s a lot to playing at corner that you have to play, and he hadn’t played what you think of as a lot of football. He didn’t play his freshman year, and then, last year he battled into a starting position after game two or three. He’s played a lot of football since then, but he’s still growing as a player. He’s improved his tackling and his toughness.”
