Scouting Journals for Layth Ghannam

Layth Ghannam Scouting Summary

Cody Bellaire

7/20/22

Two-way standout along the offensive and defensive line whose athleticism pops off the screen when chasing down ball carriers or hunting for defenders to finish in the open field. Ran an impressive 4.55 shuttle and jumped a 23-inch vertical during the spring camp circuit prior to his senior season. Possesses impressive body control and balance. Shows explosiveness and twitch firing off the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Phenomenal build and weight distribution throughout his frame. Stands in at 6-foot-4.5, 285 pounds with a 6-foot-6 wingspan and an 11-inch hand. Projects to an interior offensive lineman. Good looking center prospect. Will get stronger at the point of attack as he physically develops throughout college. High ceiling prospect who has the chance to become a top 100 NFL prospect.

Layth Ghannam is an On3 Outlier

Layth Ghannam is the top prospect in West Virginia and dominates the competition to the degree you’d expect of a blue-chip prospect. The 6-foot-4.5, 285-pounder uses his massive 11.25 inch hands to stun opposing linemen while working on both sides of the ball. Ghannam is a bouncy, light-footed mover with an outstanding 4.56 second short shuttle time. He flashes explosive movements as a blocker at the second level and as a defensive lineman, tallying 11.5 tackles for loss as a junior. We also see some physicality where he’s a violent finisher on both sides of the ball.
