Personal Life
Willis played at Atlanta Westlake for his sophomore and junior seasons before transferring to Roswell (Ga.) High as a senior. It was at Roswell he was given the opportunity to be a full-time quarterback. He led the team to the state title game and scored 37 total touchdowns. Willis — a retroactive On3 Consensus four-star prospect who was rated as a three star by ESPN, 247Sports and Rivals — originally committed to Virginia Tech before flipping to Auburn. He spent two seasons as a backup at Auburn to Jarrett Stidham. But after Gus Malzahn announced he was not in contention for the starting job in spring 2019, Willis entered the portal. He went to Liberty, sat out the 2019 season due to transfer rules and then won the starting job in 2020. He was sensational in 2020, becoming the top rushing quarterback in the country with 944 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.He is the son of Shastca Grier and Harold Willis. He has two siblings: Destini and Marquis. Willis earned his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies in May 2021. He is now studying towards an MBA.
