As a Recruit
Personal Life
Max Duggan was an On3 Consensus four-star recruit coming out of Council Bluffs (Iowa) Lewis Central High School in the 2019 recruiting class. Duggan also ranked as the No. 1 prospect in Iowa and as a top-9 quarterback recruit. Duggan committed early in the recruiting process to TCU over offers from most of the top programs in the country. Duggan made an instant impact for the Horned Frogs. He started 10 games and threw for a school freshman record of 2,077 yards and 15 touchdowns. He continued to excel in the COVID-shortened 2020 season. Duggan battled through injuries in 2021 but still threw for 2,048 yards and 16 touchdowns. Many have been drawn to Duggan during TCU’s record-breaking 2022 season. Many college football experts say Duggan represents what’s great about college football – especially since he had to overcome a rare abnormality in his heart that was diagnosed in 2020. “Max Duggan is one of the reasons why I love college football,” Fox Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt said. “He's had to overcome so much adversity, and he's come out on top.”
