Personal Life
Nathaniel Frazier never intended to become one of the top running back recruits. In fact, when he arrived at high school football powerhouse Santa Ana (California) Mater Dei before the 2022 season, he expected to play safety or receiver. However, injuries to his teammates forever changed his life's trajectory. "It's crazy how it all worked out," Frazier said. "But I've grown to love running back now, and I'm definitely passionate about it." That passion translated to a junior season that saw him rush for 693 yards and eight touchdowns, impressive when you consider Fraizer shared playing time with 2025 blue-chip recruit Jordan Davison. Frazier also excels in track with a personal best 10.58-second time in the 100-meters and a 21.62 200 time. He also has a GPS time of 21.3 mph – a time that was recorded in 2022. "I honestly just love football and working out," Frazier said. "That's literally all I do – either play football or train for football." That focus paid off. "He just makes these explosive plays that no one else can make," Mater Dei coach Frank McManus said. "Some of the holes he can hit and creases he can get to, no one else can. When you've got an elite guy like Nate, sometimes he's going to do something instinctive, and you don't want to squash that."
