Nic Codie
Texas
Recruiting Class of 2024
As a College Recruit
The upside of Nic Codie is so intriguing. Standing in the 6-8 range with a reported 7-2 wingspan, you like the way he moves. This gives him upside on the defensive end, with the fluidity to slide his feet and the length to get in the passing lanes and rotate on the block. Offensively, he is crafty in the paint. He has a quick, off-cadence release from 15-feet and in and he is confident with a jump hook or floater with his right hand. While the ball skills are still raw and he will need to continue working on the balance and footwork, he shows the ability to step out and knock down a three. That potential spacing the jump shot would provide is a nice added bonus to his game. There is a lot to like here, and Codie is younger for his grade. His dad, Nakia Codie, played defensive back in the NFL.
