Personal Life
Rod Moore tore his ACL in the spring before the 2024 season. For many, that would mean a reprieve from the daily grind of practices and film sessions. But that's not who Rod Moore is. “The guy gets injured – the next day he’s the first guy in the front seat in every meeting," Michigan defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator LaMar Morgan said leading into the 2024 season. "He hasn’t missed anything; he’s asking questions. He’s unbelievable. That’s the culture that we have here. That's the type of player and person he is." Moore underwent surgery in April 2024 and spent some time rehabbing in California, before jumping back into the Michigan program and impacting as a coach of sorts. He’s been praised by coaches and teammates alike for his positive attitude through a difficult situation. “I think it could be potentially both, player and coach Rod,” Moore said of this season. “We’ll see how it goes in the future, as far as player-wise. But for now, I’m Coach Rod, continuing to push the guys going forward." Moore was a third-team All-Big Ten selection in 2023, appearing in 12 games with 11 starts. He logged 38 tackles, including one for loss and two interceptions.
