Personal Life
Tate Rodemaker arrived at Florida State as a three-star recruit coming out of Valdosta (Georgia) High School in the Class of 2020. Rodemaker threw for 6,811 yards and 74 touchdowns, averaging 243.3 yards per game in his career at Valdosta. Rodemaker played in one game and started once in the 2020 season, finishing with 17-of-29 with 129 yards. He played sparingly in the 2021 season and saw action in seven games in 2022. He finished the 2022 season with 254 yards passing and two touchdowns. Rodemaker was thrown into the national spotlight after FSU starting quarterback Jordan Travis went down with a injury late in the 2023 season. Rodemaker answered by rallying the Seminoles to a comeback victory over Florida in The Swamp. "He displayed his mental and physical toughness," FSU coach Mike Norvell said. "The two-minute drive to go get the touchdown right before half, to be able to come out in the second half and open up the first series with a score, and then just the different plays that had to show up there to put us in a position to have a chance to win, he just continued to answer the call.”
