Tyran Stokes, the No. 1-ranked basketball player in the 2026 class, looked right at home in his 2025-26 regular season debut with Rainier Beach (WA), which he transferred into back in mid-November.

In Stokes’ first game with the Vikings, the five-star forward filled up the stat sheet and scored a game-high 31 points, grabbed eight rebounds and made six steals in Rainier Beach’s 81-60 victory over Renton on Wednesday night, according to MaxPreps.

Stokes had officially withdrawn from Notre Dame (Calif.) last month, in what was a then stunning move by the nation’s top-ranked high school boys basketball player.

The 6-foot-7, 225-pound forward is the No. 1-ranked player in the 2026 Rivals Industry Ranking and joins a loaded Vikings’ team that also features former NBA point guard Jamal Crawford’s son, J.J., on the team as well. The younger Crawford debuted for the Vikings as well on Wednesday night, scoring 15 points for Rainier Beach as they look to repeat as WIAA Class 3A champs.

Last season in California, Stokes led Notre Dame to the Southern Section Open Division and state Open Division semifinal, averaging 21 points, 9.3 rebounds, nearly 4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

Rainier Beach is coming off a strong 2024-25 campaign, in which the Vikings went 28-3 en route to winning Washington’s WIAA 3A state championship.
