One of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ latest additions via undrafted free agent signings was the acquisition of Colorado strong safety Shilo Sanders. The punishing hitter is already making his way around the Tampa Bay area and popped in a local high school recently.

Confirmed by Tampa Plant High School head coach Hank Brown, Sanders stopped in at the Panthers’ facilities for a workout, with student-athletes and coaches welcoming one of the Buccaneers’ newest defenders.

“It was awesome having Shilo Sanders, who is now with the Bucs, to come by Plant and spend time with our guys,” Brown said. “He shared his story, dropped some real wisdom, and showed our players what it looks like to chase greatness the right way. Appreciate him taking the time to give back and pour into our program.”

Sanders was shown in a YouTube video doing field work at Plant’s Dads Stadium and also in the program’s weight room. With many high school football player’s ultimate goal being that of playing at the highest level of the NFL, Brown was appreciative of Sanders taking the time to give back to the community.

“Big thanks to (Shilo Sanders) for stopping by Plant and hanging out with our guys,” Brown added. “Having a Buccaneer in the building who’s been where they want to go means a lot. He kept it real, gave great advice, and left our players motivated to keep working. We appreciate him giving back.”

The 4-time state champion Panthers are coming off a 8-4 season playing in Florida’s Class 7A classification and head into 2025 as one of the region’s top teams.

For Sanders, he is coming off a solid past two seasons with the Buffaloes where the safety totaled 125 tackles. Now Sanders will be taking aim at claiming one of the 53 roster spots the Buccaneers will have available once the NFL season rolls around.
