Florida High School Football Top 25 Rankings - Oct. 12

The second half of the 2025 Florida high school football season is seeing teams jockeying for position in district play and looking to clinch their respective division as the final week of the season draws nearer.
The undefeated IMG Academy Ascenders had themselves a bye week but remain the Sunshine State’s No. 1 team, with Armwood and Chaminade-Madonna Prep following at No. 2-3, respectively. Which other teams were able to crack the latest set of Top 25 Florida high school football rankings?
The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.
Here is the latest Florida high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Oct. 12.
1. IMG Academy Ascenders
IMG Academy (6-0) recently had its toughest game of the season when you look at margin of victory, defeating the down the road Venice Indians, winning 27-14. Though playing in a tougher game close to home, the Ascenders remained undefeated on the season.
IMG Academy has looked a lot more like its dominant self under the watch of first-year head coach Greg Studrawa. It’s been no easy path, either, with impressive victories over The First Academy, Hoover (Ala.), Winslow Township, Coronado (Nev.), Phenix City Central (Ala.) and now Venice.
Up next for IMG Academy, the Ascenders takes on the NFL Academy of the United Kingdom this Friday night.
2. Armwood Hawks
The Hawks of Seffner, who are now coming off their seventh straight win and second straight shutout, a 49-0 defeat of Sickles, look unbeatable at the moment. Armwood could be serious contenders to upend West Boca Raton in Class 6A this fall with the way they’re playing.
There’s plenty of reasons to like this undefeated Armwood (6-0) team, including senior three-star quarterback Rhys Brush, who is committed to USF. The Hawks return to action this week against winless Sickles and are expected to go 10-0 as they will be favored heavily in every game moving forward.
Looking deeper at this Armwood roster and head coach Evan Davis has a slew of Power Four recruits littered all over the defense, including in the secondary with cornerbacks Jaelen Waters (Miami commit), Larry Warren (UNLV commit) and safeties D’Montae Tims (Colorado commit), Kallen Martinez (UConn commit).
Next up for Armwood is a trip into northern Hillsborough County to face Steinbrenner (1-7).
3. Chaminade-Madonna Lions
Chaminade-Madonna Prep (6-1) have won six straight games since losing the regular season opener to nationally ranked St. Frances Academy of Baltimore.
Four-star Derrek Cooper (Texas commit) is as good as they come for running backs, with the senior rushing for 413 yards on 50 carries and scoring seven touchdowns. The offense is more than just Cooper alone, however. Also putting up some strong numbers is junior Arwin Jackson, who has rushed for 416 yards and four scores.
A bright spot is the youth movement at quarterback for the Lions as 14-year old Malik Leonard, who has completed 52 of 65 passes (80 percent) for 907 yards and nine touchdowns this fall.
The Lions look to make it seven straight wins when they host Blanche Ely on Monday night. The game was supposed to be played this past Friday, but was postponed due to inclement weather.
4. Miami Northwestern Bulls
Miami Northwestern continued to make their mark on the state and show why they are among one of the elites after romping past Key West, 56-0, on Saturday night.
Despite the departure of coach Teddy Bridgewater, the Bulls have remained one of Florida’s top tier programs. When looking at this team, there’s a very real possibility of repeating as Class 3A state champions. Neimann Lawrence, a sophomore four-star quarterback, has taken over the full reigns behind center with Leon Strawder transferring to American Heritage.

There’s a real possibility that Miami Northwestern could run the table the rest of the way as the Bulls play a fairly advantageous schedule from here on out. Miami Northwestern should finish the regular season with a 9-1 record and the top seed in Class 3A, Region 4.
5. St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders
St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders was challenged and then some on their trip to the United Kingdom to face NFL Academy. The Raiders got up by multiple scores before needing to eke out a 41-39 victory over NFL Academy at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Three-star quarterback Mason Mallory, who transferred from West Boca Raton during the offseason, has displayed what he could do as the Raiders’ dual-threat behind center. Mallory has so far thrown for 807 yards and 13 touchdowns this fall.
When it comes to dominance in the Sunshine State on the high school football level, head coach Roger Harriott has this group prepared to win a unprecedented seventh straight state title.
The Raiders have a brutal stretch to close the season as they will take on Monarch, St. Thomas Aquinas and Chaminade-Madonna Prep, respectively.
