Florida high school scores school-record 90 points with dominant ground attack

Lely (Fla.) went on the road Friday night and spoiled Barron Collier’s (Fla.) homecoming night at a level far beyond what most could have expected.
In a 34-point victory, the Trojans dropped a shocking 90 points on Barron Collier — a school record. Lely sophomore running back Nino Joseph ran for 422 yards and seven touchdowns at 23.5 yards per attempt.

Barron Collier was down just one possession at halftime, but Lely sprinted away from the Cougars with a dominating second half. Although most of Lely’s success came on the ground, the Trojans added 295 yards and four touchdowns through the air. Six of their seven successful two-point conversions also came from the passing game.
Lely is the No. 197 high school football team in the state of Florida, per the On3 Massey Ratings. The Trojans are 4-2 on the season — their win over Barron Collier was preceded by victories against Palmetto Ridge, Golden Gate and Gulliver Prep. In those three wins, Lely scored 62, 66 and 44 points respectively.
Up next for Lely is Immokalee, which sits at 5-1 and ranked No. 176 in the Sunshine State.
