Illinois High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 6

The high school football season continued in Illinois last week, as many of the top programs in the Prairie State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.
Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Illinois high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 6.
1. Mount Carmel Caravan
The Caravan regained the top spot in the Illinois high school football rankings after a 34-14 victory against Brother Rice. Mount Carmel put points on the board in each quarter, including 14 in the second. The Caravan can get its seventh straight win by beating Joliet Catholic Academy on the road on October 10.
2. Lincoln-Way East Griffins
The Griffins improved to 6-0 after a 42-6 domination over Metea Valley. It’s also the fifth game this season in which Lincoln-Way East limited its opponent to seven points or fewer. Lincoln-Way East will aim for win number seven on the road against Homewood-Flossmoor on October 10.
3. East St. Louis Flyers
The Flyers earned their third straight victory after losing their first two. Likewise, East St. Louis completed their second consecutive shutout win by keeping Edwardsville off the scoreboard. Ahmad Coleman tallied 90 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Myson Johnson-Cook contributed two rushing TDs. On defense, Cornell McIntosh had two sacks, while Phillip White registered nine tackles and two interceptions. The Flyers will travel to Belleville East on October 10.
4. Brother Rice Crusaders
The Crusaders suffered their first loss in the 2025 Illinois high school football season. While Brother Rice held a 7-6 lead after one quarter, they did little to gain the victory. After suffering this setback, they will try to bounce back by defeating Notre Dame College Prep on October 10.
5. Loyola Academy Ramblers
The Ramblers have started another winning streak after a 28-7 triumph against St. Ignatius. Loyola Academy scored all its points in the first half and did not look back. The Ramblers will return to action on the road against Providence Catholic on October 10.
6. Glenbard West Hilltoppers
The Hilltoppers extended their winning streak to six games after blanking and dominating Hinsdale South 63-0. Glenbard West already held a 42-0 halftime lead and kept the pressure in the second half. The Hilltoppers can book win number seven by defeating Hinsdale Central on the 10th.

7. Nazareth Academy Roadrunners
The Roadrunners improved to 5-1 for the 2025 Illinois high school football season after picking up a 48-25 win against St. Rita. Likewise, this victory extended Nazareth Academy’s winning streak to six games. They will play against De La Salle on October 10.
8. Maine South Hawks
The Hawks own a five-game winning streak after a 35-7 outcome against New Trier. It’s also the fourth time they’ve limited their opponent to seven points or less. Maine South will visit Glenbrook North for an October 10 game.
9. St. Charles North North Stars
The North Stars are now at 6-0 after edging St. Charles East 24-13. Keaton Reinke collected 172 receiving yards, while Braden Harms supported with 103 yards and a catching TD. St. Charles North can earn win number seven by beating Wheaton Warrenville South on October 10.
10. Lincoln Way West Warriors
The Warriors have done well in the 2025 Illinois high school football season after getting six wins in as many games. In their 52-21 victory against DeKalb, Lincoln-Way West’s 21 second-quarter points placed the game out of the Barbs’ reach. The Warriors continue their schedule against Lapeer on October 11.
