New York On3 High School Boys Basketball Composite Rankings Top 25 - Jan. 10
The New York High School Boys Basketball competition intensifies as this hotbed of talent produces the next generation of basketball stars. That said, the teams with highly touted players occupy the top 25 positions in the New York On3 Composite Ranking.
Here are the updated ratings after the first week of action in 2025. Since New York has a deep talent pool, it’s unsurprising that some teams are in the top 100 nationwide.
The On3 Composite High School Basketball Team Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected High School media and data companies. It includes Massey, Max Preps, Cal Preps, ESPN, and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced High School Team Ranking.
1. Long Island Lutheran
The Crusaders remain New York’s top high school boys basketball team after defeating Columbus in the Jordan Holiday Classic. The Mingo brothers outdueled the Boozer twins (Cayden and Cameron) as Kayden Mingo led all scorers with 25 points. Meanwhile, Dylan Mingo contributed 20 points, and Nigel James made key stops for the Crusaders. Long Island Lutheran improves to 7-6 and could become more potent once they welcome back Kiyan Anthony.
2. Archbishop Stepinac
After losing to St. Rose on Dec. 29, the Crusaders completed two consecutive victories against Iona Prep and St. Raymond for Boys. Against the Ravens, Hassan Koureissi led the way with 17 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Danny Carbuccia had 13 points and three steals, while Jasiah Jervis had 15 points and eight rebounds. Archbishop Stepinac will try to extend their winning streak against Monsignor Scanlan on Jan. 10.
3. St. Raymond For Boys
While the Ravens lost to Archbishop Stepinac, they still got commendable performances from Brandon Stores Jr. (18 points) and NaJay Bess (15 points). Despite that defeat, St. Raymond Boys still has a solid 7-5 record as they face Iona Prep on Jan. 10.
4. Nazareth
The Kingsmen improved to 7-3 after a 68-56 victory over St. Peter’s. However, their three-game winning streak ended after a 76-67 loss against St. Francis Prep. They can bounce back with a victory over Xaverian on Jan. 10.
5. St. Francis Prep
The Terriers extended their winning streak after defeating Nazareth 76-67. St. Francis Prep is now at 9-1 heading into their New York high school boys basketball game against Holy Cross on Jan. 10.
6. Christ the King Regional
The Royals improved to 5-6 after their Jan. 7 win against Holy Cross. Jayden Ramirez paced Christ the King with 26 points, two assists, and three rebounds. While they have a losing record, they are 5-2 against teams in the Catholic High School Athletic Association. The Royals will try to bring their record to .500 against Archbishop Molloy on Jan. 10.

7. Jefferson
The Orange Wave is on a six-game winning streak after a 95-79 victory over Lincoln. Conner Sprattley had a monster game against the Railsplitters, tallying 50 points, four rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. Trevor Lewis added 13 points, while Jahda Swann contributed 12. Jefferson has a 15-1 record heading to their Jan. 11 match against South Shore.
8. Cardinal Hayes
The Cardinals defeated South Shore in the Jordan Classic, improving their record to 7-4. David Gaymon carried the team with 21 points (four three-pointers) and seven rebounds. Cardinals Hayes will face Bishop Loughlin on Jan. 10.
9. Lawrence Woodmere Academy
Woodmere’s record dropped to 10-3 after losing to Dynamic Prep in the Jordan Classic. That defeat snapped their three-game winning streak, but they can bounce back against Immaculate Conception on Jan. 10.
10. Iona Preparatory School
After losing to Archbishop Stepinac, the Gaels rediscovered their winning ways with a 76-50 victory against Mount St. Michael. Dillon Callahan scored 24 points, Ray Fernandez added 16, and Nate Shillingford contributed 10. Iona Prep will face St. Raymond Boys in another New York high school boys basketball showdown on Jan. 10.
