Every NFL player right now was once in high school football, dreaming of reaching the big stage. However, ask any of them, and they’ll cherish the opportunity to play for a state championship in the stadium where their idols become legends.

That opportunity lives to this day for state title hopefuls in nine states as NFL stadiums will witness the coronation of the best teams. It should be ten if you count Tom Benson Stadium, the site of the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame game, to the list.

Minnesota state championship games will be held on Nov. 22 and 23 at U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings. The Minnesota State High School League has six divisions of 11-on-11 football, ranging from Class A to 6A.

The same goes for qualified Nevada high school football teams competing for the state championship at Allegiant Stadium on Nov. 26. The home of the Las Vegas Raiders will host seven title games under 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A. Also on the schedule are the championship showdowns under the three divisions of Class 5A, the highest competition level in ‘The Silver State.’

Meanwhile, state championship games for New Jersey will be at MetLife Stadium on Nov. 29. While New York’s two NFL teams (Giants and Jets) play their home games here, the stadium is at East Rutherford. The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association has seven classifications: Groups 1 to 5, Non-Public A, and Non-Public B.

Indiana high school football championship games will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium from Nov. 29 to 30. The home of the Indianapolis Colts will be the battlefield for the state’s Class 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A title games.

Michigan’s state title games fall on the exact dates as Indiana’s. The Divisions 1 to 8 matches will be at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions.
