The 2025 high school football season will be getting underway in less than six weeks, which means it’s officially preview season. Rivals will be breaking down the nation’s top teams from coast-to-coast, and and today we head to Connecticut to preview one of the region’s top prep schools in the Brunswick School. The Bruins won the NPFC championship last year and should be in the hunt to repeat thanks to a host of returning starters.

Player Spotlight: QB Ben Rolapp

The graduation of Blake Hebert left a void behind center for the Brunswick football team. Enter Ben Rolapp, who transferred in from Darien during the offseason. Last season Rolapp was one of Connecticut’s top passers, tossing for 2,587 yards and 30 touchdowns. Now at the helm of an offense with talent up front and out wide, Rolapp should be able to put up even bigger numbers this fall.

Others to watch: OL Rowan Ahrens, OL Sean Berntsen, DE James Cragin

Season Prediction: 9-0

On any level of football, combining dominance on the line of scrimmage with an experienced signal caller is a winning formula. That’s why we’re so bullish on the Bruins this fall. Harvard commit Rowan Ahrens returns to anchor an offensive line that should bully opposing defensive fronts. Even though the Brunswick football team plays one of the toughest prep school schedules in New England, the team should still run the table and win another NPFC championship.

Game-By-Game Predictions

Sep. 12 – at Avon Old Farms (Conn.) Beavers – W
The Bruins open up the season with a 10-point victory over the Beavers.

Sep. 19 – at Salisbury School (Conn.) Knights – W
Another road game, another easy victory for the Bruins as they cruise to a 2-0 start.

Sep. 27 – Sheffield Academy (Conn.) Tigers – W
If it wasn’t obvious that the Brunswick football team’s offense was starting to click on all cylinders, it becomes so in the home opener.

Oct. 4 – Belmont Hill School (Mass.) Sextants – W
The Bruins play their first out-of-state opponent, but it doesn’t matter as they notch another blowout.

Oct. 11 – at Cheshire Academy (Conn.) Cats – W
Back on the road for Brunswick and it results in the team’s third road win of the season.

Oct. 17 – at Phillips Andover Academy (Mass.) Big Blue – W
The Bruins remain on the road and put on a show for those who decided to travel, winning by four touchdowns.

Oct. 25 – Phillips Exeter Academy (N.H.) Lions – W
Brunswick School plays arguably its closest game of the season against New Hampshire’s top team, winning by a score.

Nov. 1 – Deerfield Academy (Mass.) Big Green – W
The Bruins’ second-to-last game of the season ends with a 21-point victory.

Nov. 8 – at The Williston Northampton School (Mass.) Wildcats – W
The Brunswick football team close out the regular season and complete an undefeated run with a narrow road win over the Wildcats.
