Prediction: Falmouth (Maine) repeats as MPA Class B champs

The 2025 high school football season will be getting underway in less than six weeks, which means it’s officially preview season. Rivals is breaking down the nation’s top teams from coast-to-coast, and today we make our way up to New England where Falmouth is looking to defend its MPA Class B title. Can the Navigators prove the naysayers wrong and go back-to-back?
Player Spotlight: QB Tres Walker
For a state that’s known more for keeping the ball on the ground at the high school level, Tres Walker brings Maine into the passing age of offenses. Last season, Walker proved himself to be one of the state’s top passers by completing 69 percent of his attempts for 1,923 yards and 27 touchdowns. With an experienced offensive line back and plenty of weapons around him, Walker should stuff the stat-sheet as a senior.
Others to watch: TE/DE Eli Bush, OL/DL Thomas Gale, ATH Abram Wintersteen
Season Prediction: 6-2
The Massey Ratings expect the Navigators to drop a couple of games in the regular season but that doesn’t mean this group can’t repeat for a state title. Falmouth went undefeated last year but this time around the team won’t be sneaking up on anyone. That’s something head coach Spencer Emerson has emphasized to his players heading into the fall campaign. A loss to Kennebunk and Marshwood during the regular season won’t deter this team at all. The Navigators will get hot at the right time on their way to repeating as state champions.
Game-By-Game Predictions
Sept. 5 – Kennebunk (Maine) Rams – L
Falmouth opens its season against the very team it beat for the state title last year. The Rams will be too tough this time around and the Navigators open the season with a loss.
Sept. 12 – Westbrook (Maine) Blue Blazes – W
Falmouth bounces back in a big way with a 41-14 rout of Westbrook.
Sept. 19 – Greeley (Maine) Rangers – W
The Battle of Route 9 is back and both teams are excited to revive the rivalry. The Navigators win big and bring the Route 9 Rumble trophy back home.
