According to WSPA News 7’s Pete Yanity, Gaffney (S.C.) head football coach Donnie Littlejohn told the outlet that Arkansas three-star commit Jayvon Gilmore is no longer enrolled at the school.

Gilmore, who was sharing time behind center with newcomer Banks Bouton, has completed 14 of 28 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown in three games this fall. Last season, Gilmore had a stellar campaign for Gaffney, completing 180 of 297 passes for 2,510 yards and 26 touchdowns.

The senior signal caller made his pledge to the Razorbacks back in August, 2024. As a sophomore at Ben Lippen (S.C.), Gilmore completed 118 passes for 1,767 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2023. Gilmore is ranked as the No. 9 player in South Carolina and No. 29 nationally among quarterbacks of the 2026 class.

Gaffney is currently the No. 11 ranked team in South Carolina and entered the 2025 season with high expectations with Gilmore after going 10-2 in 2024. The Indians reached the third round of the SCHSL AAAAA playoffs, losing to Northwestern (S.C.) in a 58-40 contest.

The Indians’ football program is in a bit of transition as they are in the first year under Littlejohn, who was longtime assistant before taking over the head coaching job from Dan Jones. Jones retired as Gaffney’s winningest coach earlier this year with a 140-53 record and two state championships in 2012 and 2021. He also played for the school before embarking on a 33-year career there that included 18 years as an assistant and 15 more as head coach.

The Indians are currently 1-2 on the season and are coming off a heartbreaking 17-14 loss to Greenville last week. Gaffney (1-2) this week is scheduled to return home and take on Boiling Springs.
