Sarasota Booker (Fla.) releases 2025 football schedule

High school football teams in Florida are just over two weeks away from beginning official practices and programs are still finalizing their 2025 schedules. The latest team to unveil their slate of games was the Sarasota Booker Tornadoes on Saturday afternoon via social media.
The Tornadoes are coming off a strong 2024 campaign in which they reached Florida’s Class 3A state semifinals before falling to Jacksonville Raines, the eventual state-runnerup to champion Miami Northwestern.
Sarasota Booker went through transition during the off-season with Scottie Littles stepping down as the team’s head coach and the school naming Super Bowl XLI champion Carlos Woods as the new lead man. Woods, who also serves as the school’s athletic director, coached in the NFL for the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals before returning to the high school level.
When looking at the Tornadoes’ schedule, the team will face one of the toughest when it comes to Florida’s South Suncoast region.
In the preseason classic, Booker will welcome the Manatee Hurricanes, who finished last season as a state semifinalist in Class 5A. The following week Booker will hit the road and head into the Yellowhammer State to face Alabama powerhouse Auburn.

The following four games for the Tornadoes are against teams that all qualified for the postseason, including a home date against 2023 Class 2M state champion Berkeley Prep, Clearwater Calvary Christian, Naples and Naples Lely.
Among the other games on the schedule include playoff contenders Boca Ciega, Sebring and Seminole, which finished 8-2 as an independent.
Sarasota Booker has a number of players that are Power 4 commitments as they head into the season, with the Tornadoes featuring 2026 cornerback Chauncey Kennon (Florida State commit), wide receiver Tyren Wortham (Michigan State commit), linebacker Kevontay Hugan (Indiana commit), wide receivers Dylan Wester (Pittsburgh commit) and safety Karaijus Hayes (Vanderbilt commit).
With the talent coming back combined with playing a competitive fall schedule could be setting up Sarasota Booker for a serious playoff run this season.
