2024 OL Khayree Lee makes the call for LSU
Khayree Lee Jr. has drawn attention and offers from coaches around the country more than midway through his junior season at Marrero (La.) John Ehret.
After wrapping up his regular season early Saturday morning, the No. 73-rated interior offensive lineman in the country committed to LSU. Lee, who was also giving consideration to Michigan State, Ole Miss and Texas, was offered by the Tigers during his visit to Baton Rouge last month for the victory over the Rebels. Lee was plotting a visit back to campus for the LSU-Alabama tilt for weeks. In the lead up, his realized his decision.
“It was an easy decision because that’s my dream school,” Lee told On3. “That’s where the crib is at.”
Thenimble 6-foot-5, 330-pound interior offensive lineman landed the offer personally from LSU head coach Brian Kelly during that last visit to campus. He’s quickly grown close with multiple members of the staff, including Kelly and offensive line coach Brad Davis.
“Coach Kelly and Coach Davis played a huge part in this,” Lee said. “They believe in me, they love me and they want me to become a Tiger. When they told me that, I knew I had to make this happen.”

“That’s where I wanted to be at and it’s close to home,” he continued. “I’m working to get a starting spot early and start as a true freshman.”
First LSU visit laid groundwork for the commitment
Lee had an eye-opening spring after shedding more than 50 pounds and taking over as Ehret’s left tackle. He caught the attention of schools in-state and Power 5 programs around the Southeast. Midway through his junior year, there was a mounting list of suitors including Florida State, Mississippi State, Michigan State, Ole Miss and Texas.
LSU waited to get Lee and his family on campus to deliver the offer, which ultimately swayed momentum in the Tigers’ favor.
“LSU has a high standard in my recruitment. That offer left an impact … a big impact. Even my teammates knew it when I got back. That’s home,” he said after the Ole Miss game and visit in Kelly’s office. “I can see myself there and I enjoyed it out there. They really love me out there and they rolled out the red carpet for me that day.”
Lee is a top-30 player in Louisiana’s 2024 recruiting class.
