Raymore (Mo.) Peculiar four-star running back DeZephen Walker has committed to Oklahoma.

He chose the Sooners over Kansas State, Nebraska, Notre Dame and others.

Walker is the No. 361 overall prospect and No. 25 RB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 4 player in Missouri.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder returned to Norman for an official visit over the weekend and he’s now the latest addition to head coach Brent Venables‘ 2026 pledge list. He adds to a class that ranks No. 17 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

As a junior for Raymore-Peculiar, Walker rushed for 957 yards and eight touchdowns on 176 carries, per MaxPreps. He has more than 2,000 rushing yards to his name across his prep career.

The Sooners now have 11 commits in their class. Of those 11 commits, five are four-star prospects.

Mustang (Okla.) four-star quarterback Jaden O’Neal is being pursued heavily by Florida State, but he remains in the OU class and is the highest-ranked commit, checking in as the No. 234 recruit and No. 16 QB.

O’Neal has been pledged since last June. He’s now one of three blue-chip commits for the Sooners on the offensive side of the ball, with Walker and Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star wide receiver Daniel Odom flanking.

May brought three commitments for the Sooners. Bryant (Ark.) four-star linebacker Jakore Smith is the No. 25 LB and No. 4 player in Arkansas this cycle. Jacksonville Mandarin three-star defensive lineman Brian Harris is the nation’s No. 50 DL. Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton three-star safety Niko Jandreau is the No. 11 player in Arizona.

“Oklahoma is an underdog right now,” Harris told On3’s Chad Simmons about his decision. “Coach Venables is going to transform OU’s program to the next level. They aren’t going to be the dark horse anymore. Oklahoma is about to be taken seriously and seen as a top program.”

Walker is the fourth commitment of June for OU. Midlothian (Texas) four-star interior offensive lineman Noah Best, Bryant (Ark.) three-star EDGE Matthew Nelson and Murrieta (Calif.) Valley three-star cornerback Derrick Johnson have also pledged to the SEC program this month.
