Shreveport (La.) Calvary Baptist four-star running back James Simon is ready to make his commitment.

On Monday, he tweeted that he will announce his decision on May 29th at the On3 Elite Series event in Nashville, where 50 of the nation’s top 2025 prospects will be in attendance.

After amassing more than 20 offers, Simon will choose between LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and Alabama.

“Those are the schools I will be committing between when I make my decision,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons earlier this month. “All five schools have pushed for me, I have relationships with coaches at each school and those five schools have things I am looking for.”

Simon previously broke down his top five

In his interview with Simmons, Simon gave a quick breakdown of each of those five schools and why they stand out in his recruitment.

Alabama: “Alabama’s history stands out to me. My relationship with them is big too. Coach Robert Gillespie has been there for a while, so we have built a strong connection.”

LSU: “It is the home feeling I get when I am there that stands out about LSU. They have treated me like I am part of the team already and that has always been big. It is close to home too, and I know a lot of the coaches well.”

Notre Dame: “I like Coach Deland McCullough a lot and we have a great relationship. I feel the same about Coach Marcus Freeman. Those two set the standard, both have made me feel wanted and they have shown me that they feel I can help the team.”

Texas: “I like the relationships I have built with Coach Tashard Choice and Coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian). It is more than football with them and they talk to me about life. They are good guys, I like how they coach and we have good relationships.”

Texas A&M: “I like what the new staff is doing with the team and the program. They are building something big there for the program and I like how they have been recruiting me.”
