Ryder Frost, a four-star small forward in the 2025 class, has committed to Notre Dame and Micah Shrewsberry, he told On3.

The 6-foot-6 senior out of Phillips Exeter Academy (NH) chose the Fighting Irish over a top group of Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Virginia Tech, and Syracuse.

He becomes the third player to commit to Notre Dame this week, joining five-star SF Jalen Haralson (No. 13 overall nationally) and four-star PF Brady Koehler (No. 92).

Frost is the No. 83 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 18 small forward prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Frost on his commitment to Notre Dame

Ryder Frost went in-depth on his decision to choose Notre Dame with On3.

“I chose Notre Dame because it felt like home,” he told On3. “Coach Shrewsberry, Coach Farrelly and the entire coaching staff built a great relationship with me and my parents. And I just connected with the guys and everyone there and just felt comfortable, and it just really felt like that’s the place for me.”

What led to his trust in coach Shrewsberry and the coaching staff?

“I feel like Coach Shrews and the whole staff are genuine and knowledgeable coaches that were real with me and how they see me fitting in with their system. And outlined how they’ve had success with guys like me.”

In his own words, what type of player is Notre Dame getting in Ryder Frost?

“I would say I can stretch the floor with my shooting, guard multiple positions, and I take a lot of pride in just making the right play. I also feel like my game is still developing and constantly working to expand it.”

He has a message for Irish fans.

“I would tell Notre Dame fans that you’re getting a competitor and someone that’s all about winning. And someone that’s going to work hard every day to impact winning in any way I can.”

Named one of the Top-10 Long-Range Sharpshooters

Ryder Frost was recently named one of the Top-10 Long-Range Sharpshooters in the 2025 class, according to On3’s Jamie Shaw:

The SkinnyRyder Frost is a lethal shooter. This summer, if his feet were set and he got a clean look, the shot would go in. Frost has an easily repeatable shooting load, and his release and release points are consistent, whether shooting off movement or stepping into one. He has a firm shooting box and he gets the shot out of his hands quickly. With Middlesex Magic on the UAA Next Circuit this summer, Frost shot 44.2 percent from three on 8.6 attempts per game. His 15.1 points were scored at a highly efficient 1.21 points per possession. The sturdy 6-foot-6 wing was in the conversation for the top spot on this list.
