4-star WR Kelshaun Johnson postpones his commitment
Houston (Texas) Hitchcock four-star receiver Kelshaun Johnson was set to announce his commitment at his high school on Monday, July 8, but due to Hurricane Beryl, those plans have changed.
The No. 196 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking had plans to commit to Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M or USC at his high on, but the weather has pushed that decision back.
“I have moved it back to Wednesday. We are still working on a time,” Johnson told On3.
Johnson is ready to announce his commitment. The Razorback and Trojans have been high on his list, but this looks to be coming down to two in-state schools. Both the Longhorns and Aggies have been strong contenders in this race.

“They are great schools. I like the coaches at Texas and Texas A&M, both have good offense and the coaches at Arkansas and USC are great too. I have been thinking about this decision for a while, and I am ready, but I will have to wait a little longer.”
The 5-foot-11, 160-pound playmaker is known for his speed. He is explosive and dynamic with the ball in his hands.
“Whoever gets me is getting a playmaker with explosiveness and a leader,” Johnson added.
