Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers became known for the ‘discount double-check’ belt celebration years ago. Across his career, many have mimicked the swiping motion across the waist which he made popular in a series of State Farm commercials. However, the quarterback has often hit back when defenders choose to mock his success.

During his weekly appearance on the Pat McAfee Show with former teammate AJ Hawk, Aaron Rodgers got back to football – after two weeks of controversial COVID-19 talk – and called out opponents across the league.

“There haven’t been a lot of positives that have come from guys mocking the belt over the years,” Rodgers said, via The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman.

With three MVP awards, four All-Pro selections and a Super Bowl ring, Aaron Rodgers has put plenty defenders in their place over the years. This season, the Packers are 8-2 – and 7-1 with Rodgers – with a commanding lead in the NFC North. In addition, Aaron Rodgers has continued his reign of terror on those who mock his celebration.

“This year, Robert Quinn, Chandler Jones and Jamal Adams have done it,” tweeted Schneidman. “Packers then beat the Bears, Cardinals and Seahawks.”

The Green Bay Packers on Saturday activated Aaron Rodgers from the COVID-19 reserve list, a move that sparked conversation around the league after Rodgers’ firm stance on his vaccination.

Aaron Rodgers jokes about toe injury

Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 and missed one game for the Packers. Then, a week later, Rodgers on Tuesday appeared again on The Pat McAfee Show and once again stole the spotlight.

After being activated from the COVID-19 list, Rodgers was placed on the Packers’ injury list with a toe injury. He ended up playing, and the Packers picked up a much-needed, 17-0 win over the Seattle Seahawks; it remains unclear how Rodgers sustained the injury, but after McAfee asked, he responded jokingly that it was COVID-related.

“That was a COVID injury,” Rodgers said to McAfee, when asked how he sustained the toe injury. “As far as the heart [and deciding whether he was fit to play Sunday], I just had to back into working out, just to see how I was feeling. Day five and six, I had a couple of good workouts, and I felt good afterwards, so I wasn’t worried about my wind or heart or any of those issues, and got checked out before I had any issues. So, I felt really good.”
