Aaron Rodgers: 'No point' returning 'unless you think you can win it all'
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a lot of thinking to do this offseason on whether he will return for another season.
But there is one thing he is certain about: he won’t play football in 2023 for a team he doesn’t think can win a title.
On his weekly Tuesday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers address some of the questions surrounding whether he will play football next year.
He said he wouldn’t be a part of any potential rebuild with the Packers.
“If there’s a rebuild going on, I won’t be a part of it,” Rodgers said.
Rodgers then expanded on his mindset in that case.
“If they want to go younger and think Jordan (Love) is ready to go, then that might be the way they want to go,” Rodgers said. “If that’s the case and I still want to play then there’s only one option and that’s to play somewhere else.”
Aaron Rodgers also discussed returning to a different team
But Aaron Rodgers also addressed the potential situation where the Packers do want him back. In that scenario, it is not a guarantee that he will return to Green Bay.

He will return if he believes the team around him can win the Super Bowl.
“If it’s not and they’re like no, we still want you to play and this and that, then it has to be the right situation with a roster that looks like we can win at all because there’s no point in coming back if you don’t think you can win at all.”
Rodgers finished the 2022 season with 3,695 passing yards, 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. His 12 interceptions were the most since his first full season as a starter in 2008.
He led the Packers to a 9-8 record but the team did not make the playoffs after losing the final game of the season to the Detroit Lions.
