After a turbulent offseason, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers returned for another season and has had immense success. Does he have another season in him, either in Green Bay or elsewhere in the NFL? The quarterback commented on his future on Wednesday.

“I’m just enjoying this season for this season, and playing next year will definitely be in the thought process,” Rodgers said, via Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Rodgers added he wants to “not be a bum” as his career comes to a close, and he clearly is not near that territory given he’s the frontrunner for the MVP award. It would be his fourth time earning the honor (2011, 2014 and 2020). The 38 year old has completed 68% of his passes for 3,689 yards, 33 touchdowns and just four interceptions.

In contract renegotiations this summer, Rodgers deal was reworked so that the original 2023 year on the contract is voided. Put simply, 2022 would be the last year of the current agreement.

The Packers have clinched the NFC North, and they are currently the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a 12-3 record. The Packers host the Minnesota Vikings this weekend for Sunday Night Football, and they close out the regular season in Detroit with the Lions.

Rodgers addresses vaccine controversy…again

If Rodgers was hoping to turn down the heat on the conversation around his COVID-19 takes, he wasn’t successful this week. The reigning NFL MVP went back on the Pat McAfee Show to share some more thoughts on the pandemic.

Rodgers expressed frustration with medical professionals who supposedly do not discuss treatment options other than the vaccine. The Green Bay quarterback is famously not vaccinated against COVID-19.

“How come in a league with 51 guys on the (COVID) list yesterday, there’s no conversation around treatment options for those who test positive,” Rodgers said. “I do know behind the scenes, this is 100% true, there are many teams who are using/recommending a lot of the treatments I used.”

McAfee interjected with “Doctor Joe Rogan?”

“If you don’t agree with the ones I used, let’s come up with some other ones,” Rodgers continued. “Instead of sticking a person for 10 days in isolation, not able to see anybody and with zero treatment options… To me, If science can’t be questioned anymore, it’s propaganda.”

At this comment, McAfee said, “Oh, you’re going to start some s—!”
